Augustus knew of no improper behavior by Chatman

“My experience at LSU and with coach Chatman was on a business level — coach to student-athlete,” Augustus said. “I went to practice, I left. She always conducted herself as a coach in front of me.

“Other than that, I don’t know what happened with other people.”


Call me dull, or unimaginative...but that doesn not say the same thing as "Augustus knew of no improper behavior by Chatman"...unless you add: "to herself".

Could also be a rehearsed response, as well.

It almost certainly is a rehearsed response - she's had weeks to come up with it. Anyway, I doubt you're going to get much different from any prominent former LSU player, at least in the newspaper. There's no percentage in saying, "I'm sure nothing happened" when, of course, you can't be.
