I'm actually very surprised. I was thinking she would want the challenge of going to a larger school.

Her previous contract was to run through the 2009-10 season and was folded into the new deal, the school said.

I'm sure there's an out clause for the UConn job . . .

That said, it's another sign that Geno's not going to Florida, not that I thought he was going anyway.

It's too bad she's not mobile. Crying or Very sad

She'd make a great major conference coach.

Congrats to Coach Rizzotti! She's doing a great job, and she was always a class act on the Comets as a player.

And ups the possibility that Elliott and Cardoza may be strong candidates for HC jobs.

Ahem....now hasn't someone been saying that Jamelle will be Geno's successor? I stand by that person. Wink

Actually she likes Hartford. She has a good space, and staff along with the support of the school to build a top 25 team. Her parents live in Connecticut and she has built her family here also.

Unlike other small schools in CT who are at or close to the top of their leagues Rizzoti is very professional and is proactively recruiting to build a top 25 team. It is a goal that staff, school and players all have bought into.

As long as Coach Rizzotti is building in a quantifiable way, UH will work hard to keep her.

I do not see her going to UConn or any other school. She is standing tall and building a program that is uniquely hers. No one is going to overshadow Rizzotti; not even Geno.
