Dunno if Cal gets a #4 seed if Boyle leaves.

I'm glad I checked the board before I posted this link myself.

This is, of course, an utterly insane thing to do, even crazier than SI's top 10 the day after the tournament ends.

I only really follow the Big East, but I have a few quibbles.

I think Marquette may be a bit too high, considering they are losing 4 seniors. Louisville also seemed a little high considering that are losing Jazz, but honestly Angel was head and shoulders above her.

I think DePaul may a bit too low, and I was surprised to see Pitt as a 7. They could easily be the 3rd best BE team. WVU should be tough, especially with Bulger coming back, and maybe this will be the year Cincinnati breaks through.

I was also very surprised not to see USC in the mix.

I wouldn't be predicting Marquette as an NCAA team at this point - would love to be wrong of course. I don't think losing Jazz Covington will hurt Louisville too much. Wisconsin is down as one of the last 4 teams out and they probably have a better shot at the NCAA's at this point than Marquette does.

DePaul gets a couple key transfers eligible and has a lot of their core players back, WVU has Bulger back as you say (not sure who they lost to graduation this year) and Pitt has most everyone back I think with Winn getting a 6th year too. So I agree with those 3 BE teams being a little low at this point.

But the bottom line is as someone else said in this thread it's really way too early to be doing a bracketology for the 2007-08 season...

I completely agree. He's nuts. I mean, sure I'm counting down the days until November...but I'm not trying to pretend I know how good 64+ teams will be by NEXT March!

And, really, ASU vs. UC Riverside again? Show some imagination, Charlie!

And also, ditto joetro's surprise at USC not being in the mix. I hope he's wrong and the Pac10 can pull off more than 3 bids...

As crazy as it is, I have found myself checking it out for the past 5 minutes...maybe that says something about early withdrawal Shocked

It's true but it's fun. It's something to do while we await the next season.

As for Boyle, I'm saying my prayers everyday that she stays at Cal.

Creme is bored. I can't even begin to comprehend this beyond Gail having a Sweet 16 berth her first season in Austin.

Cool. You're my ACC expert for these future draft classes. Cool

Well, if she does leave (and I guess it's a good sign that it's Friday and nothing has come out of Berkeley or Durham yet)...I am pretty confident Sandy Barbour the AD will hunt down another excellent coach....probably poach one from another program (as seems to be the trend lately Smile).

With that said, Cal has some really strong players coming back, plus a couple excellent recruits so look for them to be in the action, Boyle or no Boyle.....(but--please stay JoAnne).
