Heather Cox does a decent job.

Speaking of screaming, if I have to hear Hatchell hollering if they're ready next year, I'm going to have to beat someone about the head, neck and shoulders. I've had enough. Time to move on to someone else yelling that we can get tired of.

If you don't like it, don't read it. Besides, it was nice to see ESPN do a UConn game and actually realize there's another team on the court.

Felt bad for the kids staying, expecting Yow to quit, including Beal from New Britain. Glad we won, still kinda sad, same way I felt when Conradt retired. End of an era IMO.

Hey now! I like Stacey's french! I might be easily amused, but you guys are HATERS. Wink

Wow. I'm hyper.

If I had one criticism of ESPN, I don't think they gave the wolfpack players enough credit for their skills and ability. I think that was lost in the give all for coach talk. Also, this is the sweet 16, do you really think they would give less effort for a coach that was healthy?? I think Dykes flogged that horse a bit much.

NC State was there because they deserved to be. Lots of talent; lots of abilty.

Wrong Mountaineers. Try Appalachian State. Your neighbors to the north know all about them. Heh.

And BBallFanCT, yes. I'd love for ESPN to be here. But, they're not, so I have to settle for making them come down here twice a year...the first of which just happened. The big race is on Fox tomorrow at 1:30.

Damn bummer, because I'll be watching the Lady Vols until 2 or so.

I swore that everytime Whittington touched the ball some ref was blowing a whistle, until this game they had been pretty good, ad like you said letting them playball. This was the first game of the tournies that I have gotten po'd at a ref! Makes you wish they could screen a play like in football. Of course basketball would then get as boring and tedious as football Laughing

Congrats to UConn. IMO we have been beaten by a very strong team, and that's saying something when you consider some teams we've played. The pack was frankly overachieving in several areas in the game, and STILL couldn't pull it out. Great effort and thank you to the ladies for a wonderful season, it's been a lot of fun following them this season.

It's so hard to watch the players on any team in the tournament crying after the games, because to them it almost seems like life or death. I was really dreading the loss, because to some of these players it must really seem like life or death, and they don't want to let Coach Yow down. I hope they don't feel that way. Yow is a very strong woman, and she has many people around her that love her.

I thought both teams took an awful lot of flops, trying to get charges. I wish they had stood in there and played D.

Why would she ask that dumb ass question of Coach Yow at the end of the game? Evil or Very Mad

It was to the affect of "now that the season is over, what will you have now to help you fight off the disease?" WTF!?! How do you ask that, how do you ask that at THAT time?

*Waits for Bballfan to come weigh in on Ms Mowins*

*waits with iluvacc*

I think Kay should have said "Well, Beth, I have the back of my hand *quick bitchslap*." Razz

Laughing @ both of you!

I'll cut Beth some slack. She's a fish out of water as a sideline reporter (usually does PxP), and I'm sure she meant well despite the stupid question. No doubt that Beth is a Grade-A moron, but she is a good person deep down and a HUGE supporter of Kay Yow. I think Beth was thinking what I was thinking--very good chance that Kay Yow just coached her last game.

Congrats to UConn on the win! Moo U, keep ya heads up! You girls showed nothing but heart during this run. Ashley Key, see ya in the WNBA, homegirl! Smile

Yup. It's called "Stacey speaking in English"! Laughing

But I don't mind her screaming "Briann Janvier" every two seconds. With Duke out, I've got to pull for "Janvier" and those "other" Devils now. Very Happy

That's exactly right. NC State played well; UConn played the second half better. Goring got tired. Charles didn't. Swanier had an exceptional game; Key didn't.

Yes, the late block was all ball; the hit on the arm afterwards was the foul.

I have a lot of criticisms of ESPN for this one, actually. Coach Yow deserves a great deal of respect and admiration. But viewers and listeners deserve announcers who won't say the same things over and over, and who will tell them what's happening on the court. Did Jimmie say "cancer" more, or "surround-sound" more? That might have been one of the worst announced major-conference college games I've watched.

I enjoyed watching it anyway-- we're still UConn fans-- but if we win the next one, I'll enjoy it much more.

Me too.

That team is very aestheticly pleasing...

*cough*... and good at basketball.
