Question

What say you pilight? This has been an unbelievable tournament so far. First time ever on the women's side I can say my brackets were totally shot.

I don't know how the tourney will finish up, but the first few rounds have been better than I can ever remember for the women.

Depends on how you want to measure it, I suppose.

In 1994, the first time a #13 seed reached the S16, we wound up with a #3, #4, and #6 seed in the F4 and Tennessee got knocked out in the S16.

In 2001 only two #1 seeds even reached the E8.

In 1998 only one #1 seed reached the E8, two of them went down on the first weekend.

Well I knew you would know all of the historical facts. So, I guess I'm wrong?

Depending upon how this thing turns out, it perhaps will rank among those three previous years.

how long has it been since half (or less) the 1s and 2s didn't make it to the elite 8?

Oops, should be either:

how long has it been since half (or more) the 1s and 2s didn't make it to the elite 8?

how long has it been since half (or less) the 1s and 2s made it to the elite 8?

2004, when three #1s and only one #2 made it.

The last time it was more than half was 2001, when two #1s and no #2s made it.

What about the rest of the games though..

Sure, there have been a few more upsets in past tournaments..

But how about the amount of "almost upsets" Arizona St. was down by double digits in the second half twice. Notre Dame almost beat UNC..ect..There have been a ton of those as well. Which, those games are just as exciting, it's just the favorite did come out on top.

ESPN won't be happy. An RU-ASU game is far from what they envisioned in that bracket I'm sure.

I would bet ESPN was really looking for a Duke run to the finals

You just think Rutgers-Duke was ugly. The Sun Devils might never score.

Let's hope they don't get into that situation very early though! It took them awhile to start simmering before boiling in the previous game! I commend the uphill struggle, but it's not good to start from either extreme:

Way ahead or far behind as it may be that ASU isn't a really good come from behind team or they may blow a big lead! I've seen it too many times. But, no one expected this matchup to begin with; so, don't expect anything and just see how this plays out!

Like Duke and Rutgers I hoped more for a Ruts win, but would not care if Duke did, and the same goes for this one, I'm more for Rutgers (and not because of Yow either) but I'll be fine if ASU wins, the only team I absolutely want to lose tonight is Florida, I wanted them gone a long time ago. I hate any team out of Florida State. I'm not even sure I'll be able to watch the game I hate their mascot, I hate their theme music; whatever you call it. I think I'll watch a movie during that game. Did I mention I hate them?? Twisted Evil

The Scarlets might not either. It could 8-6 at the half.

I didn't think it was ugly. Depends on your outlook.

I do think this year's post season has been a lot of fun. And did anyone think that UC Riverside & Louisville were better than Bowling Green? That might have something to do with ASU's great showing against BG.

I don't care if the game finishes with the same score as Naismith's first game, just as long as it's Rutgers with the lead.
