Purdue is struggling mightily in this game......poor shooting, tons of turnovers, not getting to the line .....just killing us.

WE had an 11 point lead and now we are down by 1 to what I consider to be an extremely mediocre Notre Dame squad this year. Yikes!!

Purdue is down 5 with 1:43 to go. Pathetic showing by the Boilers. Just a terrible second half.

And it's over. Purdue loses by blowing an 11 point second half lead. Not a good sign of things to come if this is how they are going to play this year.

How the hell did that happen?!?

Notre Dame got blown out by Penn State, who lost to St. Francis (Pa.). I know rivalry games usually produce close games, and I know this was in South Bend, but this result is quite surprising (and not in a good way).

Wow! I wish I had seen that game. Purdue's top three are so good. What happened?

Makes UConn's victory over Purdue not so stellar anymore.

Definitely sick to my stomach over this one. Is some sort of meltdown happening (i.e. Gearlds, etc.)? Losses like this are inexcusable, intrastate rivalry or not. Purdue is the more talented team and needed to show it.

No congrats to Notre Lame from me. They didn't stop Purdue, the Boilermakers stumbled themselves.

I don't know what it is. I do wonder if Versyp's no nonsense approach is wearing a little thin on a team who is so used to the 'niceness' of Curry. Sometimes it's really hard to adapt to a style like that especially when things don't go well.

However, one thing I really disagree with was Versyp altering the starting lineup. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and our starting lineup was definitely working just fine.

Maybe the philosophy of practicing the team into the ground is resulting in the dreaded "f" word (FATIGUE). It's a terrible monster--mental and physical. Remember that we haven't really played teams (other than Baylor) that have been all that strong up till now -- and beat them. U Conn was the test--and losing to them was indicative of endemic weaknesses Purdue has.
***PASSING
***Missing easy layups
***TIRED LEGS

Don't tell me THIS team can win a Big 10 championship with as few players as they have or that France and Dildine will help turn it all around.

I did see it and all I can say is Purdidn't again!!!!!! (sorry Matty, you know that I had to do it Smile )

ND was the more mature team on the floor, even when they had two or three freshmen on the floor at a time.

Well, that and the new unis that ND came out in.

I did NOT see this coming. Shocked

I like the new uniforms, though.

Getting beat for the f'ing domers is enough to make me puke, but I feel a lot of Purdue's problem is Gearlds still thinks Kristy Curry is the coach. Her penchant for Texas Tech shirts and making roadtrips to Lubbuck this summer do not do anything alleviate this feeling.

That was a heck of a game if you're a Notre Dame fan. It sure was fun there at the end. Breonna Gray and Gaines both had great nights.

Go Irish!

Wow, didn't think I'd see the day when the Purdue men had a better record than the women.

Well Gerald's shooting slump did start in that game, and seems to have continued.

From http://southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061207/NDSports03/612070445/-1/NDSPORTS/CAT=NDSports03

"We didn't practice well this week, and one thing you learn in coaching is that not everybody has the love and passion for the game that you had as a player," added Versyp. ((OUCH!!))

Freshman FahKara Malone didn't start for the first time this season, because, according to Versyp, she missed a team meeting.
