Has the Pac-10 even won ONE remotely significant non-conference game this season? How depressing.

Cal beat Belmont. That's something.

Ohhh...THAT Washington team....I got ya. The one that was ranked when Purdue beat them by 24 points. Mm hmm.

Once again, a come-from-behind nail-biter at home for Ohio State against an unranked opponent.

But that's okay voters, you just keep those overrated Luckeyes in the Top 10. Rolling Eyes

Listened to most of the second half on the WOSU-AM feed (www.wosu.org). I was pulling for the Huskies (yes, I know I'm supposed to root for Big Ten teams all the time but I just couldn't). It sounded like OSU panicked when they got behind and couldn't defend the fast break for a while, then Foster called a few timeouts close together, got his troops on the same page, and got his starters to stop turning the ball over-- UW's 11-point lead consisted entirely of quick-release three-pointers and transition baskets, and once OSU quit the turnovers UW had trouble scoring.

If you were at the game please tell me what I got wrong.

On the other end, UW-- like most teams that play OSU-- got in serious foul trouble trying to stop Davenport: most of OSU's comeback seemed to come at the free throw line.

Typical OSU ball for the last seven minutes or so-- but nice effort from what may have been an athletically overmatched Husky squad. And yes, we're still waiting for a significant victory from the Pac-10: maybe it will come from ASU, or maybe Stanford will get past Texas Tech.

Stanford defeating Texas Tech wouldn't be a significant victory after what's already happened to TTU a couple of days ago.

Was at the game, UW scored a lot on fast break points due to releasing the guards and outrebounding and hustling the buckeyes.

It's so nice to see Big Ten "fans" cheer against other league members...somethings never change.

Oh get over it. During season, all bets are off. Come Big Dance time, then ya pull for the Big Ten. And don't go putting quotation marks around "fans". I've been a fan of the Big Ten Conference for over 30 years, kiddo.

Now then, do you really think the Luckeyes deserve their ranking? Won any neutral site tournaments? Beaten any ranked teams on the opponent's floor? How many away games have the Luckeyes played?

'Nuff said. Cool

It has been over 30 years since I've rooted against ANY Big Ten team in any sport unless they are playing in conference. So who are you calling "kiddo" and I do question your status as a Big Ten "fan" with a screen name of ILUVBIGTEN.

Your'e a joke!

AS a Big 10 fan it is hard to root for a team coached by a jerk such as Foster. I would much rather cheer for a team who treats their players with respect. Besides, he coaches to beat up on cupcakes and always flops in the tournament. He is clueless in making adjustments and his usual adjustment is seeing how many times he can say the f word at halftime in the lockerroom.

Wow, there is some hate for the Pac-10 in this thread.

I think Washington did a great job especially considering that it's second leading scorer was out. Now, if they could only be consistent enough to get a decent record and make a tourney run.

And yes, I agree Ohio State is so overrated. Can't wait till they leave the comfort of their home court and get pounded by another ranked team.

I do however think that Purdue will be hard pressed to take the tourney crown from them considering their lack of depth. But that's besides the point.

Anyways, it's early in the season and it's a good loss for the Huskies as they learn that they CAN hang with the big boys despite some inconsistent play.

Why is pointing out that Pac-10 teams have failed every OOC test they have had (which is not really disputeable) "hate"?

Well, maybe "hate" is a strong word, but definitely no love. Mostly, I'M just disappointed that the Pac-10 teams have done so poorly out of conference.
