You're the team. Your selection is next. Do you pick:
Erin Lawless or Katie Geralds?
My pick--LAWLESS all the way.

Gearlds. She's not going to go 2-18 every game. At 6-0, she'd be a tall guard in the W and would be pretty hard to stop. At 6-2 and not athletic, Lawless would struggle more against elite athletes like Tamika Catchings.

I think it depends on the team and what the team's needs are. bballfan has made a good case why you'd draft Gearlds. But if you're a team that needs a forward with some versatility, one that has post moves and can also hit from the outside, than Lawless would be a decent pick. A team like the Connecticut Sun, that already has Douglas and Sales, as well as Whalen and Phillips, might have more use for Lawless than Gearlds.

My thoughts exactly.

Paul, do you really think Wisdom-Hylton can make it in the W? Say more, please.
I had some hopes for Traore last year, with her athleticism. Gearlds is a fine shooter, ordinarily, but I'm not sure she has a position in the pros, and after last night I wonder about her mental toughness (compare: Strother, A.). But she'll have the whole season to prove me wrong. I do like the way that Purdue's upperclassfolks pass the ball and know one another's location, this year and last... but that's not a skill that makes any one of them draftable.
