Now that the ACC men have again subdued the Big Ten, it got me thinking: If something similar was done in the women's game, which conferences should go at it, and what would the matchups be, assuming you'd want them as even as possible? (With the continued growth of college sports on cable thanks to new channels, it's not so wild a dream.)

I'd like to see an ACC-SEC challenge myself, and were I scheduling it, the matchups might look like this:

Maryland vs. Tennessee

North Carolina vs. Louisiana State

Duke vs. Georgia

Florida State vs. Vanderbilt

N.C. State vs. Kentucky

Georgia Tech vs. Arkansas

Virginia vs. Florida

Boston College vs. Mississippi

Miami vs. South Carolina

Wake Forest vs. Auburn

Virginia Tech vs. Mississippi State

Clemson vs. Alabama

Now you give it a try...

That is crazy. I was thinking the exact same thing the other night when I was at the gym watching the Duke-Indiana game and thought, gosh, this would be great in the women's game.

But then I thought, who would do it and I thought that the only conferences that match up are the ones you mention, ACC vs. SEC. Some of the other conference have a god three-four teams, but I think none of them would match up top to bottom like the SEC and ACC.

However, if it were to be done, I would love to see the following conferences go at it.

Pac-10 vs. Big 10
Big East vs. Big 12
Mountain West vs. Conference USA

Here would be my match-ups for the Pac-10 / Big 10 Challenge

Stanford vs. Ohio State

Arizona State vs. Purdue

Illinois vs. USC

Minnesota vs. Washington

Michigan State vs. California

Iowa vs. UCLA

Wisconsin vs. Oregon

Indiana vs. Arizona

Michigan vs. Washington State

Penn State vs. Oregon State

IIRC the Big Ten and the Big 12 have a similar challenge.

It isn't nearly as extensive though. It is just 2-3 games.

I would love to see it happen up and down two conferences.

Me too. I'd love to see a Big East/Big Ten Challenge.
