How does South Dakota State drop out after a win over Virginia?_________________ "People kept saying why are you looking at Maryland, why are you even talking to them? Well, look at us now!" - Crystal Langhorne, NCAA Champion

geez Sternvogel.
pretty harsh on the Cardinal. You kept GA at #8 even though Stanford was 1 FT away from beating them? That doesn't seem right. Also, given they were coming from TN and had little time to prepare for GA.
I will predict Stanford will easily win the Pac 10 and beat ASU bad.

Then Stanford will be ranked higher in March. This poll was about this week. |

still doesn't make sense to drop out of the 25 after losing at #8 by a small margin.

Is there another team on Sternvogel's list that has a sub-.500 record but it still listed in the Top 25? Maybe that was one of his points of emphasis in determining his ranking.
And considering Stanford lost to BYU and BYU is ranked 20th in Sternvogel's poll, at this early stage (when teams have not played that many games), Stanford may be ranked behind BYU.

Yeah, but BYU lost to Fresno State. Not exactly a quality loss to keep them in the top 25.

Fresno isn't looking too bad so far. 3-1 with wins over BYU and Utah.
