Kiara Buford, a 5-foot-11 junior forward, gave an oral commitment to attend the University of Minnesota. Buford, who averaged 21.7 points last season, will not be able to sign a national letter of intent until November 2007.
Angel Robinson, a 5-9 senior point guard is making an official visit to the Gophers this weekend. Robinson, a first-team all-state selection last season by the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association, has narrowed her college choices to the Gophers, Marquette and Pittsburgh.
Robinson has visited Marquette and Pittsburgh. She canceled scheduled visits to Illinois and Iowa.

That would be a good pick up for the gophers if we can get Angel. I'm a little worried about our point guard position after this year. (even though we'll still have Emily I’m not sure if McCoy is really a point guard.) |

Names are awfully similar to Kyria Buford, who plays for FSU (IIRC) and Angel Robinson, who plays for Georgia. |
Both of them are from St. Paul Central, but yea, it is funny how the same names that sound similar will be playing for differnt teams. I thought it was weird last year when the gophers lost Brittany Davis and the Lynx gain a Brittany Davis. (from Florida) |
