Temple goes on a 15-3 run to take a 3 point halftime lead.
My girl Fatima is doing GREAT!!!!
Temple's starting point guard Jennifer Owens goes down early with ankle injury.

Rough start for Temple.
Candice Dupree gets second foul at the 17:43 mark and has to come out. Then Jennifer goes down right after that. They fell behind by 9 points. Candice goes back in after only 3:44 on the bench.
Then they got themselves together and went on that 15-3 run.

My girl Fatima Maddox is tearing it up. Is anyone watching on ESPNU?
I'm only listening to the audio feed from Rutgers radio.

Temple goes up by 4 with 5 secs left, Cappie runs the court and hits a 3 then time expires.
Let me say once again, that play by play announcer for Rutger ROCKS.
Fatima Maddox 15 points to lead the Temple Owls.

wow. i am stunned.
dawn staley won that game. cappie lost that game.
i gotta say, it was pretty awesome listening to old van chancey on that game. and guest anne donovan. in fact, beth mowins said there were no fewer than seven wnba teams represented at the game (i shoulda gone).
dawn was clenching her fist right up until and just after the handshake. viv was so mad, she could eat beetles. this is the second game i've seen where they just blew it at the end and, rightly or wrongly, it fell to cappie. why on earth was ajavon bringing the ball down the court? why didn't cappie take over? (sigh.)

The question is were they watching Cappie or were they watching Candace Dupree. There aren't close to seven teams that can draft Cappie, unless there are that many that want to trade up for her.

You won't know whether you want to trade up for her unless you see her.
They might be taking some notes for future drafts also.

Maybe they were scouting Cappie, so they can start figuring out how to stop her.
As a sidenote, what is Dawn wearing? It looks like a cheap 70s dressing gown, made out of carpet.

back off, keegs. dawn was steppin'. a little different look for her, but a nice jacket.
i think they were looking at both players (and others? bowens?). donovan specifically mentioned dupree, saying the question was whether she could raise her game (to this conference's level), and she clearly was showing that she could.
chancey said two things that i would've pinned him on by asking if he rated cappie higher than augustus (in terms of the draft). he was breaking down her game and what she contributes (shooting, sharing, leadership, full range of shots, etc.) and said he really didn't see any weak aspect of her game. he also mentioned some kind of value system "they" use, i think based on shot percentages - he broke it down too fast, but apparently she's in the 170s, and chance said almost no one, at any level of the game, is in the 170s. (sorry i couldn't be more detailed on that. sounded interesting, but i wasn't exactly taking notes.)
y'know, some of the w folks might've been sizing up cappie to see just how far they might/should go to negotiate for her. who knows?

Yes, Van the Man has such a great track record with PGs, especially young ones. By all means listen to him tell you about Cappie.

Cappie is NOT a *mere* PG. Van was just talking about the second coming of Coop and he knows her very well.

The boy was at the game. According to him, CVS is off her game: bad substitutions (19 empty minutes for Thrash, 5 minutes for Vaughn), and horrible clock management.
And sorry, but count me as a vote against the jacket. Nice cut, horrible fabric.

well, recognizing talent and knowing what to do with it are two different things.
