I expect a close game. Aya Traore isn't the only inconsistent potential star who will take the floor: Broback and Roysland can both score over 20 or under 5, and Williams can get a double-double or a goose egg.

The only outcome that would really surprise me would be a blowout Gopher win-- Purdue has too much talent for that-- but the home court advantage means a lot to this year's Gophs. (Actually it's meant a lot since Whalen started winning.)

First Gopher home game we're going to miss this year (we could well be busy, erm, um, ah, GIVING BIRTH TO OUR FIRST CHILD). And yes, we are bringing the radio to the hospital, while taping the UConn game for later viewing.

Purdue shooting 26% and only down 6 Shocked

Whichever team start hitting shots will win the game.

There I go, stating the obvious.

I can't undertand what is going on with Katie Gearlds. She is averaging fewer points this season than she did last year with a serious unjury. She has the talent, but doesn't seem to try to assert herself on the game. As a freshman, she had attitude, since then it is all gone.

She had attitude as a freshman because she didn't have to worry about being a leader. Now it's all on her shoulders and she apparently doesn't like that. That's why I wish George would take the reins and run the ship (or Lawless as well)

If she doesn't take charge of something, she will go down in history as one of Purdue's most disappointing players.

Purdue shooting 12-45.

I think Katie would prefer to be second in line.....let someone else do all the talking while she just does her job behind the scenes (aka scoring 20 points per game)

Unfortunately, esp next year, she won't have that. And she doesn't have it this year either.

That would be fine if she was scoring 20 points a game. Unfortunately, she isn't even close.

Purdue 60
Minnesota 56

HUGE win for Purdue. They are clearly in the driver's seat for the B11 championship.

Night and day comparing this team with last year. Last year, they would have completely folded, especially in an arena like The Barn. Their heart is really impressing me.

If Katie Gearlds or Erin Lawless could kick up her scoring, they could really go far.

Duncan was in there to match the physical play of the Gopher posts.

ACL's tend to be 18 month injury - 9 months to physically recover and another 9 months to recover mentally. Many players need a season to regain their confidence. I wonder if Katie Gearlds isn't going through the exact same thing this year.

Great win for the Boilers - they showed an enormous amount of heart and toughness.

I actually like Duncan and what she brings to the table. When she's in, you know she's giving everything she's got. Plus...I guess I'd rather have Duncan see minutes in crunch time than Bogs.

Is Minnesota overrated? Their only win against a ranked team was a close homer against Stanford. They got hammered on the road by unranked South Carolina and in both road tilts against ranked teams (by 18 to New Mexico and 21 to LSU). There's nothing on the resume to show that they're any better than, say, St John's.
