67-66 POR final
16 pts (7-11, 2-4 3P, 0-0 FT), 2 reb, 1 ast, 2 TO, 1 blk
Even though GON out-rebounded POR 44-25,
POR shot 54.2%, 50.0% 3P, 61.5% FT
GON shot 37.1%, 25.0% 3P, 75.0% FT
for POR the win.
That takes an at large bid away from a likely more deserving school.

More deserving? Winning a conference tournament is the normal way a non-Power5 school gains admittance to the NCAA tournament, and defeating a very good Gonzaga team is a tough way to do that. The school that gets bumped by this win is part of a very soft bubble, so I'm not feeling too bad. And NIT awaits them.

That was apparently the second year in a row that Portland won the WCC tournament. They were tied for 3rd at 10-6 in the WCC with Gonzaga at 16-0. Last year Gonzaga was the #1 seed with one conference loss to #8 seed Santa Clara and Portland was the #2 seed.
