People were downgrading Reese because she doesn't have an outside game. But Aliyah Boston doesn't stray far from the basket. She led the league in field goal shooting last year and I think that was because those shots were not very far away from the basket.

Katie Lou Samuelson isn’t looking great. Why does she start over Hull?

Probably is due to shooting. Hull is considered a good defender but she is a poor shooter. Lifetime 32.8% (20.4% from three). Samuelson isn't great either at 39.9% (34% from three), but beats Hull.

KLS is shooting well tonight, but her defense is certainly questionable.

Clark is only getting covered by the New York small forwards - Laney and Thornton.

Debbie Antonelli said that Vegas, Washington, Atlanta and LA have changed their venue for when Indiana comes to town. Was that a mistake including LA? I thought they played at the same place as the Lakers.

I was going to say Clark might be better off onight without Clark covering her (and Sloot and Sabrina having that job) I thought we might see a lot more Davis but Laney and Thornton taking that task and KLS not making them pay works.

LA is playing their first 5(?) games at the Long Beach arena due to renovations at Crypto arena.

Just checking the box score and PxP at the half, I see "KLS comes in for Nalyssa Smith" then Breanna and JJ score at will the rest of the half. At this point Lin Dunn's scouting skills are suspect if she - or anyone - thought she could guard power forwards. She couldn't guard a chair in college and she hasn't guarded a paper cup in any of her 4 WNBA teams. Her defense is on par with DT at age 40. They both give up more points than they score.

Is it too early to talk about Indiana getting another lottery pick next year?

Nope!!!!!! Rebounding sucks, defense sucks, passing sucks, shooting sucks, layups suck, clock management sucks!

Probably not. I was thinking after the Connecticut game that even if Clark plays at an all-star level she still mostly playing with a 13 win team. Journeywoman Samuelson replaced Victoria Vivians at small forward. Fegbenle is the backup center instead of Egbo/<not sure>, and appears to be an upgrade. And some other changes further down the bench. Aliyah Boston isn't as good as I would expect a consensus #1 draft pick to be.

Indiana scoring Boston 12, Samuelson 10, Clark 9. Clark 1 for 7 from 3.

Future Fever sellouts are in jeopardy from this game.

So instead of a Bueckers/Clark rivalry, we’ll have the splash sisters Laughing

Despite not having a high scoring game, I thought Clark played better this game. Much more in control.

Indiana won the 3rd quarter by 6 (25-19) and it looked like they could make it close in the fourth, but New York won the fourth by 35-10 leaving the game 102-66.

Ouch, somehow we got worse with Clark. I think it's just a lack of chemistry because we looked better during the stretches where Clark was on the bench. Anyways, here's hoping we can figure it out.

The Older Hypes spanked the Younger Hypes tonight.

Center play for Fever is lacking. First game, Boston couldn't get touches and couldn't hit shots. Tonight, she got touches but really couldn't hit shots.

Very different floor color aesthetic. I think I like it.
