Alanna Smith off to a hell of a start overseas - and she's playing alongside old Stanford foe Sydney Wiese! That's fun to see!

Some of the players might not have arrived yet, but the season was scheduled to start next weekend.

It is very much negotiable, especially for experience players and those finishing up a WNBA season. For those without other professional contracts who signed well in advance of the season, up to a month and as little as a week is typical.

Monique Billings signed with Dynamo Kursk and Tyler Scaife signed with Neftyanik Omsk. We are not at the 30 foreigner mark that we were at before the invasion, but that is still quite a few Americans there now.

And Billings probably the first American in the middle of a real WNBA career to go back there. Suggests there's minimal fear of it being frowned upon or hurting her career back in the US.

Are you going to do updates on the Chinese League, by the way? They must be paying well over there now they're letting foreigners back in, given the players who've been signed.

No, because the league website is not consistently accessible outside of China. After the first few games, they are doing a better job of recapping games on Weibo, which can be its own adventure, but I will be pretty selective on mentioning the league in the absence of more data.

After getting out of Israel, Maya Caldwell is now playing for Bogazici in Turkey. In her first game, she had 25 points, 11 boards, 1 assists and 3 steals!
