A superteam must have a player who is in the running for best/most dominant player in the league.
Atlanta does not have that....Atlanta doesn't even have a top-10 player

Atlanta has decent players but they are nowhere even close to the conversation of being a super team. If PHX gets EDD, they will be a Frankenstein superteam just like 2022 but not a legit superteam. You need young superstars and legendary vets to be a true superteam. Atlanta has a ton of potential but haven’t proven anything. Same for Indiana. Dallas are on the outside looking in.

Agreed, however...the one thing I'll say about Phoenix is that the 2022 Mercury did not get the chance to play together (Griner detained) after making the finals the previous season by beating Vegas....A healthy 2022 Mercury squad would have given Vegas a run.

It is human nature to want to win. The best chance of winning a team sport is to play with the best players you can.
Pickup basketball -- the best players want to play together.
Pickleball doubles -- the best players want to play together.
Slow-pitch softball -- the best players want to play with each other.
And the "beating up kids" analogy doesn't really work because an injury can change everything, and it's not like the WNBA, or any pro league, isn't filled with enough talent to pull off an upset.
Some people prefer being an individual star on a bad team to being a complementary player on a league champion, but to me, that's just being selfish. The object of the game, after all, is to win, not to be a star.

Why stop there? Why not let transgenders compete against female athletes as opposed to competing against male athletes? After all, winning justifies everything!!!

Some elite athletes are competitive enough that they would rather work harder to beat their rival than simply to join them.
As a FA, Stewart chose to go home. I get that. A handful of FAs wanted to play with Stewart, who is (arguably) among the top 2 players in the league. Storm fans have seen many players sign with Seattle primarily for the opportunity to play with Bird and/or Jackson. Stewart is drawing players to NY. I get that too.
Now LV built this team off the draft, winning the lottery 3 times in a row. As a Storm fan, we were the first to benefit from the 2-year record lottery odds. Without that rule change, the odds of drafting Stewart would not have been in our favor. Plum and Young were certainly weak #1s, but they have since greatly improved. LV has kept its core together because players were (maybe) willing to take pay cuts. LV has added FAs because players were (maybe) willing to take pay cuts. Trying to pay a player under the table aside, what is really horrendous to me is discriminating against a player because she got pregnant. The league was reluctant to do much about it because this Aces team is good for ratings and we're all so proud of Hammon's background. So the league accepts that superteams are good at the expense of the CBA and at the expense of discrimination against a player.
