Though the Southland (SLC) Conference has not released the conference schedule yet, most likely the conference of ten schools (five in Texas and five in Louisiana) will change its schedule from men's/women's doubleheaders on Thursdays and Saturdays to a schedule of doubleheaders on Saturday with single women's game on Thursday and single men's game on Monday.

The reason for this is to try to get more national exposure and better officiating.

The Cowgirls have finalized their non-conference schedule, though it has not been released. The Cowgirls will have 10 home games including a MTE in November. The road games will be quite a challenge for the young Pokes.

For those of you who care, the Cowgirls will play three games on the road against Power Five schools: at defending national champions LSU, also at Kansas State and at Baylor. All these games will be in December, but the game times have not been set.
