Pilight can correct me if I'm wrong, but that wouldn't have necessarily affected the number of games it took her, as she played no games in her season when she skipped the WNBA season. It would have boosted her age in reaching that total though. |
The only way that claim makes sense is if the theory is that, had Taurasi played that season, when she was younger, she would have scored more points that season, and therefore gotten to 10K in fewer games. A theory, I hasten to add, which is not supported by her averages the season before and the season after.

Taurasi has less variability in her games between marks than you might think. She took 61 games to go from 9000 to 10000, her second slowest time from one to the next. Her slowest was from 0 to 1000, at 62 games.
