Brianna Turner, the 112th player in WNBA history to reach 1000 rebounds! Breezy Bri is 27 years, 25 days old. She is the 25th youngest to reach 1000. She took 142 games to reach 1000, tied with Tina Thompson for 22nd fastest ever. She is the 2nd player from the class of 2019 to reach 1000.

She would be the fastest to 2000 if she got there in her next 54 games.

NOTE: Turner is the 4th player to reach 1000 rebounds without having reached 1000 points. Only one of the previous three has subsequently reached 1000 points.

Interesting fact! Is Bri the youngest of those 4 players?

She only needs 250 points to reach 1000, so she may make it in 2-3 seasons unless she starts shooting the damn ball more!

She's a whopping 34 days younger than Jayne Appel was when she hit 1000, so she is the youngest.

Stokes has to be one of them.

She is, and she stands a good chance of reaching 1000 points. She's only 65 away.

Oh! Speaking of, Jayne Appel, since you gave it away.

Feels like cheating to use the person's first name as their nickname.

Might've been lesser games to score that much if not for the year she took the entire WNBA season off to play in Russia. But I can't blame her for getting the extra money. Rolling Eyes

Pilight can correct me if I'm wrong, but that wouldn't have necessarily affected the number of games it took her, as she played no games in her season when she skipped the WNBA season. It would have boosted her age in reaching that total though.

The only way that claim makes sense is if the theory is that, had Taurasi played that season, when she was younger, she would have scored more points that season, and therefore gotten to 10K in fewer games. A theory, I hasten to add, which is not supported by her averages the season before and the season after.

Taurasi has less variability in her games between marks than you might think. She took 61 games to go from 9000 to 10000, her second slowest time from one to the next. Her slowest was from 0 to 1000, at 62 games.
