The announcer just said Adia Barnes is 1 of 4 active coaches to lead their schools to the national championship game. Niele Ivey is one of them, any idea who the other two might be?

Kelli Harper would be one of the two, I would guess

Then just doing some quick searching, I believe the other would be Krista Gerlich at Texas Tech

Do the announcers mean as a coach, or as a player? Or one or the other?

I don't know. When I did my search, I did it as a someone as a player who led their team to the title game, but now coaches them.

The Terps with their feet on the Wildcats' neck at this point. Game over early in the 4th.

Not sure how Arizona was #7 seed, but never mind. SelComm is messed up totally. South Dakota State should have been a 7 rather than a 9, but it’s the SelComm P5 bias again.

Adia Barnes doesn't fit that category, she lead her alma mater as a coach to the national championship game, but there others don't fit that category. I'm curious as to what they meant and who are the others that fit whatever criteria they are meaning.

It can't be as a coach. There are six head coaches who have taken their current school to the finals: Auriemma, Barnes, Frese, Staley, Vanderveer, and Walz.

It could be as a coach at the school they played at, but the people lynxmania mention doesn't fit that, it can be coaches that did it as a player because Adia doesn't fit that, perhaps its either as a coach or player at the school they played at? Are there any others that would fit that category? Or maybe someone that is a coach (not just the head coach) at the school they played at.

Are there any coaches who are alumni of their schools but weren't athletes there? I hear people go to college to do other things than play sports sometimes Wink

Such people rarely go into sports coaching
