I don't think she was suspended for the season. As others have mentioned, if she comes back to play just a few minutes, then at the end of the season, she becomes an unrestricted FA. If she doesn't play at all, she'll have to wait until the end of next season to become UFA. I think she wants to try another team and maybe three's a charm.

I mean, in the history of the league, there's only been, like, 18 coaches ever who played even one game in the WNBA, right? And this is probably the first time in WNBA history that there's been more than five at the same time; when else could it have happened?

Anne Donovan and Nancy Lieberman were teammates at Old Dominion and were both head coaches in 2000 for Indiana and Detroit and played on June 9.
