There was a post here with more info about the collapse but I can't find it now.

Great article! Thanks for sharing.

Looks like the Aces will be featured on a "Real Training Camp" feature tomorrow:

The Athletic has a Super Squad series dedicated to the Liberty and Aces:

$200,000 a year. ESPN says she could have got the supermax of $241,984 in 2023 and $249,244 in 2024 as a FA. I assume the Aces could have offered that too.

I kinda hate to see her leave almost $100k on the table. I guess likely championships, playing for Hammon, and the killer facility have a lot of value.

After being punished for the Hamby contract, you gotta figure this is all above board, right? Have any Aces players not taken a pay cut lately?

They were punished only for trying to pay Hamby under the table, right? I don't think the league cares if they continue to try to pay players under the table.

You can make the argument that they weren't even punished for trying to pay Hamby under the table, they were punished for reneging on the under-the-table payments they (allegedly) promised her, when they traded her, and Hamby responded by going "scorched earth' on them.

I am rather less than confident that this Aces team, as currently constructed, can beat New York three times out of five without Candace Parker.

Should we add Dallas to that equation?

Aces sign Alaina Coates to a seven day

When Coates takes the floor for the Aces she'll be just the 8th player to play for seven different franchises and the first since Shay Murphy in 2017.

The way Vegas' rotation goes, will she take the floor?

Riquna Williams wants to rejoin Las Vegas Aces after charges dropped

Quote:
The judge dismissed five felony charges, including domestic battery by strangulation, coercion by force and assault with a weapon, and four misdemeanor domestic battery allegations. She also released Williams from home detention and GPS monitoring, and lifted bans on travel and alcohol use.

On one hand, Vegas does need scoring off the bench. On the other hand, they can't bring Williams back; they can't. That woman is radioactive.

Aces would be STUPID to bring her back.

And the league would STUPID to allow it.

Why? Just because she was accused of something?

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

And what's your problem with me? I'm not the only one that has said that she doesn't belong, yet for the second night in a row, you come at me.

It doesn’t mean Williams didn’t do anything wrong. The victim didn’t want to be bothered with the process.

You sound like a skeazy defense attorney who’s doing their job but doesn’t really believe their client is innocent.

It’s going to be the court of public opinion that matters. The Aces already have a dark cloud hanging over them. Do they need another one?

Who is Williams’ replacement player? At this point, maybe they’re better off keeping them.

To be honest, I'll be pleasantly surprised if she's *not* back. Vegas needs her too much. If her teammates cared about her strength of character they'd have said something when she was signed after the first time she got into a situation like this. The guy who owns the Raiders certainly isn't going to care about her off-court peccadilloes (this is not me understating the severity of the actions described in the case, this is me taking Davis's POV). I'm willing to bet that the team would say that she'd already served sufficient time during the earlier stages of the process. If a suspension comes down from over their heads, the Aces will claim that they're being singled out by the league, and at that point it'll be "they're rigging it for Stewie" conspiracy theories all the way down.
