If not Dallas or Seattle I have Chicago as the third possible landing spot for Mabrey

Add Conn

Conn is interested and a possible landing spot just like Seattle and Chicago but nothing in stone as far as a decision yet from Mabrey's team.

I at least don’t know why at this point they’d trade away picks.

It's hard to find a proven PG. If they don't land someone like Canada, I think SDS could be a good alternative.

The 2023 Class outside of Aliyah Boston and Diamond Miller (if she doesn't use her 5th year) seems be kind of blah.

Kitley is tempting, but I worry about the speed at the next level. Joens is tempting but she's kind of all over the please. Jackson and Horston have potential but seem like they may take longer to develop than the typical 5 pick. I guess I'm thinking the impact of the 5 doesn't seem as much as it should be, so potentially trade it to a team like Phoenix who's looking to build anyway. Plus, I think Phoenix wouldn't mind parting with SDS.

I want to thank you Chicago Sky for setting me free. Now that you have traded ALL of your draft picks away for the next several years I now won't have to bother watching women's college basketball. Thanks for the freedom. If the Sky are a lottery team this year I will be free from following the WNBA next season.πŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘ŒπŸΏ

Like I said in another topic, even Lightfoot couldn't fuck something up this bad! This trade, among other things, may result in the end of the Chicago franchise. Embarassed

Crying or Very sad ah, c'mon Rocky, keep the love for your team, and for women's bball too. Maybe start scouting Europe for your team's next star.

Serious question - what championship-calibre WNBA team built solely from the draft?

None. The 2003 Shock and 2005 Monarchs are probably the closest. Each had our of their five starters come from the draft.

Failure is not an option for the next two seasons with this team.

Looks like they don't anticipate cutting someone who was cut from Indiana last year mid-season.

A word from AQ herself

I have decided to take the upcoming WNBA season off. I wanted to take this time to let Skytown know how much I'll miss you this summer!

'm not sure what the future holds, but I just wanted you to know that it has been the joy of my life to play in front of you in my hometown. I know I've said this many times, but it really has been a dream come true. Thank you for growing with me and supporting the last 10 years.

Going to miss watching Allie Quigley play this season... One of my favorite players! Exclamation

They'll be gone in a flash - know nothing about them, but most of our even higher picks don't make it.

Still Sad about our successful 3rd rounder, Jamierra Faulkner, who became injury prone.

Well...we'll see how this year goes with practically a brand new team full of pieces!

STHs are invited to a pre-season game on 5/7 against Indiana - again (as in 2019, McCowan's rookie season).

Per Twitter. Astou no longer listed on 2023 roster.

Is Tina Charles bored?

Wow...so many women don't know about their pregnancies until far along the way! God has a sense of humor! Laughing Congrats to Ruthy! I didn't know her story, so that was neat to learn!

Interesting that no one has said more about Astou, but this place tends to be quiet, and then I come around and kill it! Embarassed

Quote:
April 12 β€” Astou Ndour-Fall opts out of 2023 season
Even though Ndour-Fall signed a one-year contract with the Sky in February, the Spanish national team center is opting out of the 2023 WNBA season. Ndour-Fall’s Italian season and the report date to Chicago factored into the decision, as did her international schedule this summer, the Chicago Sun-Times’ Annie Costabile reported.

This year’s FIBA EuroBasket tournament is set to take place from June 15-25, right in the middle of the WNBA season. Her absence is likely a result of the new prioritization clause that is being implemented starting this season.

Meanwhile, a mention of Adut Bulgak on another thread reminded me of her brief stint with the Sky. It led me to the 2016 draft results - interesting how many ever so briefly touched the Sky.

Quote:
2016 WNBA draft
First round
Breanna Stewart Moriah Jefferson Morgan Tuck Rachel Banham Aerial Powers Jonquel Jones Kahleah Copper Courtney Williams Tiffany Mitchell Imani Boyette Bria Holmes Adut Bulgak
Second round
Rachel Hollivay Jazmon Gwathmey Whitney Knight Courtney Walker Jamie Weisner Ruth Hamblin Lia Galdeira Jillian Alleyne Brene Moseley Bashaara Graves Brianna Butler Ameryst Alston

I doubt that there will be anything memorable about our preseason game on Sunday. Maybe they'll surprise me!
