Ah. So they want to be ready the next time a fight breaks out.

(For those of you who are too young to know, Elaine Powell is very good at punching people. She was also a halfway decent point guard, but that’s, like, maybe the third thing people remember about her?)

It's a great failure of the W that the first thing people remember isn't her chasing down Nikki Teasley for a dramatic steal in the 2003 finals.

Minny now needs to draft Pao Pao to have a matched set.

Maybe Reeve is trying to lure Courtney Williams to the Lynx?

It was Coco, I believe. Complete sucker punch when Coco wasn't even looking her direction.

https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-lynx-new-look-offense-72-69-preseason-victory-washington-mystics-wnba-diamond-miller/600272841/

Quote:
Friday, the Lynx got 19 points from Diamond Miller, an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double from Dorka Juhász. And both Brea Beal and Taylor Soule played all 10 minutes of the fourth quarter, during which Washington was held to 1-for-10 shooting with eight turnovers.

Quote:
The new "five-out'' offensive scheme was not bad in its debut. The Lynx shot 44.1% overall. And despite only shooting 21.7% (5-for-23) on three-pointers, the Lynx did a good job of focusing on getting threes or getting to the basket.

I was surprised to see Dantas gone. That probably means that the Lynx are feeling good about Dorka Juhasz. Go Dorka!

And of course, go Napheesa! I am so psyched for this season.

I think the Lynx need to sign Kayana Traylor if she's still available. They really could use the dynamic 2-way play of Traylor. She's a smart young player. L. Allen is not all that, I believe Traylor will out shine her.

allen, banham, millic can all go... i need to know if they've contacted tina charles. reeve will be the national team coach - so tina has and potentially will play for her - she will not hurt the lynx team.

or is charles only interested in rings/?

Last time the Lynx started 0-6, Din Zierden was the coach

Reeve has been the Minnesota HC for 13 years...Maybe it's time for her to step aside and just be the President of basketball operations...Wearing two different hats in an organization can sometimes cloud your judgment...I also don't like the fact that all of Reeve's asst coaches are former players that she coached.

Of course, Minnesota would have to find a qualified replacement before they make any moves.

They are clearly tanking for a pg, it just sucks that Seattle is as well, and we know how much the league loves giving them the top pick.

No offense but isn’t it a bit absurd to retire Fowles’ jersey the year after she retires? Give some breathing room between celebrations.

The grass is unlikely to be greener. They will see this through. If they can pick up Caitlin or Paige for their troubles, it will be worth it. Don’t they have expiring contracts and money that would open up? Seems like they just need a minute.

The Jess, Dorka, Phees situation also seems promising. Jess Shepherd is one of the nicest early season hits with how durable and productive she’s been. McCarville-plus like numbers.

I admittedly haven't watched the Lynx this year, but why are they paying Aerial Powers $201,000 to play three minutes last night? She was so effective for Washington in 2019.
