The Serious List

Can you see why Las Vegas is so good? It has to be historical to have three players scoring at this level. Did the Houston Comets have three scoring at this level?

MVP level on losing team

I decided on A’ja.

There is always a conflict between a player that does everything for their team and the best player on the best team winning MVP.

At the end of the day, Stewart wasn’t so much better than A’ja (in fact, it’s debatable that she even was better than A’ja) to overcome that Vegas was 4 games in front of Seattle.

Gotta go with Stewart.....Vegas had 3 different players being lauded for MVP this season. When Vegas got off to the hot start people were saying Young was the MVP. Then towards the middle of the season, it shifted to Plum. Now at the end of the season, people are saying Wilson...Stewart was the only consistent for Seattle this season.

Stewart for MVP

The best player on the best team gets my vote. I really hope she wins the award again to prove a point to the haters that say she is overrated.😀

So if Parker had made the shot at the buzzer against the Mystics back in June you would have voted for who? Copper?

Meesseman has been by far Chicago's best player. Haven't heard her name mentioned at all for the award though.

Neither Copper or Parker are in the MVP conversation. WILSON 💵💰🐉🏆

So "best player on the best team" is really a rationalization. Even if they had been second, you'd have voted Wilson.

The Aces are number one in the standings. They have defeated Chicago multiple times this season. Best team.

By far? Other than Copper, all the starters are statistically pretty similar.

Historically, Catchings was the MVP with the lowest ever ppg at 15.5. That was the Catchings sympathy year. 15.5 ppg is a very low bar for MVP. Meesseman is at 12.4 ppg, even lower than Parker.

I'll take it one step further. Sometimes, you just have to go with the eye-test. And, to me, when you watch both of their games, Stewart is just a better and more versatile basketball player. Has Wilson worked on her game and versatility? Yes. Is she at the same level of Stewart? No.

The first quarter of last Wednesday's Seattle vs. Chicago game was the proof that I needed that Stewart is the MVP and the best player in the world.
