Or the side effects of an unknown and rushed vaccine that was pushed down our throats so that we were allowed to live our lives......

You really need to work on where you source your " science".
It does no one any good for you to repeat and redistribute misinformation.
And as for TK, PEs in young, fit athletes is most often the result of physical contact trauma as well as dehydration. Genetic factors can also contribute. Generally the clot doesn't form in the lungs, it originates somewhere else in the body, breaks lose, and travels to and lodges in the lungs, and can be very serious. Thankfully it was discovered.

Stupid. Both posts. There are a lot of causes. Do research in something other than conspiracy theories.

And after a quick google search, here's something from the American Heart Association fyi: Blood clot risk remains elevated after nearly a year since having covid-19. https://www.heart.org/en/news/2022/09/19/blood-clot-risk-remains-elevated-nearly-a-year-after-covid-19
Quote: |
People who got COVID-19 had a higher risk of dangerous blood clots for close to a year later, according to a large new study on the aftereffects of a SARS-CoV-2 infection during the period before vaccines became available.
As seen in previous studies, COVID-19 was linked to a sharply increased risk of blood clot-related issues – including heart attack and stroke – immediately after diagnosis compared to people who never had COVID-19. But the new study found that risk remained higher for some problems up to 49 weeks later. |
So I at least wouldn't be calling myrtle's post "stupid." Wondering if it's covid-related is in fact not operating under the pretense of a conspiracy theory.

Except that Key didn't have long Covid, which was the comment. So yes, stupid.

How do we know she didn't? Was she supposed to announce she got covid if she did? And she may not even know she had covid. Here's more research, this time from National Geographic, that suggests even asymptomatic covid cases can lead to blood clots. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/why-some-covid-19-infections-may-be-free-of-symptoms-but-not-free-of-harm
Quote: |
Thrombosis Journal and other publications have described several cases of blood clots in the kidneys, lungs, and brains of people who hadn’t had any symptoms. ...
There have been relatively few of these case reports—and it’s unclear whether some patients might have had other underlying issues that could have caused a clot. But the Washington State researchers who reported on one case of renal blood clot write that it “suggests that unexplained thrombus in otherwise asymptomatic patients can be a direct result of COVID-19 infection, and serves as a call to action for emergency department clinicians to treat unexplained thrombotic events as evidence of COVID-19.” |
So again, not stupid. And for god's sake, it's myrtle we're talking about here – you really think she of all the regular posters on here is gonna spew bullshit all willy-nilly?

Chances are really high it's related to Covid as even young people who have litlle/no Covid symptoms are experiencing a big rise in blood clots after Covid. For people my age, the consequences of blood clots lead directly to long term disability and death due to heart attacks and strokes caused by post Covid blood clots.
There is a rise across all age groups of blood clotting in the wrong places, which coincides with Covid spread.
Again, even if Covid infection leads to very mild or no symptoms, the infection can still impact how blood clots. Blood clots have directly led to decreased kidney function, being unable to breathe and other organ specific failure caused by blood clots.

I can give you a whole list of causes for pulmonary emboli in young people that have absolutely nothing to do with Covid. I was taking care of people with this stuff long before anyone ever heard of Covid. Among other common causes are genetic conditions, for instance: sickle cell anemia, which is serious, or sickle cell trait, which is not usually serious but can occasionally manifest), birth control pills or other hormone therapy (the first case I ever knew of in a young person was a 22year old on BCP, and bear in mind that HRT is prescribed for many things), dehydration, prior respiratory infection, family history of clotting disorders, injury especially to the legs--shall I go on?

That's all fine and good. But again, we don't know what is causing Tamari Key's blood clots. One can have long covid aka post-covid-19 syndrome and not even know it until something like this comes up. Did myrtle say "oh, her blood clots are probably being caused by long covid"? No. She literally said, "wonder if this is long covid related". Until we know more, it's possible. That's my whole point.

FACT: Death and disability due to blood clots have gone WAY up in prevalence across all age groups since the Covid pandemic started. You can try to BS your way past that FACT, but it doesn't make it go away. Of course clots are not "new." But the number of people experiencing life threatening blood clots has risen dramatically - the highest rate among people who've tested positive for Covid, whether they had symptoms or not.

Dominique Darious Onu, #26 on the 2021 Hoopgurlz rankings, has entered the transfer portal and is leaving UCLA.
She came from Blair Academy in NJ, same school, same class, as Olivia Miles.
I think she was getting pushed aside by some of the members of the Big UCLA freshman class.
I believe she's married to a player for the FGCU MBB team. Could that be a destination?

Michigan State’s Gabby Elliot (Jr. transfer from Clemson) tore her ACL vs Ohio State last week and will miss the season. She was a starter averaging 9.5ppg and 5.5 rpg..

Anyone know if she gets to redshirt this year if she wants to?

Tough loss for a Spartan team solidly in the bubble.
She played more than 7 games, so she is not eligible for an injury Redshirt. She was, however, a Freshman in 20-21 so she has an extra COVID year if she wants it.

The B1G lost two players for the season per game announcers on BTN coverage tonight. Madison Greene for OSU and Allison Weindner for Nebraska.
