Not many surprising names or omissions, but a few surprising things with the list.

Skylar's name isn't on the list.

That's one I noticed.

Surprised to see Angel on the list after season interruptus. But it could be a goodwill gesture after the years she put into Team USA.

A little bit surprised to see Dolson on the list, but she did a good job on 3x3 and has experience.

I do like seeing the newer names on the list. The previous group did great for Team USA, but you have to balance between experience and bringing along new players. If USA was a country without a strong basketball talent pool, you keep using your legends as long as you can. But with all the great players we have, get them in.

It's a pretty good list, but training camp starts on 9/6, and a few of those players seem a bit iffy to be back from injuries.

just for fun

C. Gray/Plum/Ionescu
Loyd/Atkins
McBride/R. Howard
Stewart/EDD
Wilson/B. Jones/Boston

It was hard to leave off McCoughtry
I have Reeves pushing for McBride (or Powers but not both) and Mike T for Atkins (and MHA but again not both)
Ionescu, R. Howard and Boston get some National team reps under their belt as they will most likely be part of the younger core for the Olympics in 24
Gray, Loyd, Plum, Wilson, EDD and Stewart are the vets/legacies who will probably be leading the team in 24
gave last post audition spot to B. Jones, considered N. Howard, Hamby, Dolson and others but though B. Jones had the best combo of size and youth to help fill the S. Fowles size hole in the team in 22 and could in theory hold onto the spot in 24

As always some very good players will be the victim of timing/style of player/vets hanging on Ogunbowale, Deshields, Hamby, A. Gray, A, Thomas, Copper, N. Howard, J. Young and others could easily be in over others above so we will see

Also going to be interesting to see how much lack of attendance at the training camp affects things (and potentially barely joining the team in time for the World Cup). The camp clashes with the end of the WNBA semis and very start of the Finals, so there are going to be a bunch of good players who basically aren't at the camp, or arrive very late. And you can imagine them picking a Stewart or Wilson or Delle Donne and saying "meet us in Sydney as soon as you can get there", but if, say, Vegas make the Finals, are they doing the same for a Jackie Young or Dearica Hamby?

This isn't going to be as simple as getting 28 people to camp and picking their favourite 12.
