Logic.

Is this assertion logically true or false:

"Most coaches are undefeated in national championship games."

When you type "undefeated definition" into Google (they use definitions from Oxford Languages, apparently), it says "not defeated, especially in a battle or other contest." Based upon that definition, it is true.

Is this opposite assertion true or false:

"Most coaches are winless in national championship games."

If this second assertion is true, how can that be if the first and opposite assertion, "most coaches are undefeated in national championship games", is also true?

can we not try to divide the universe by zero and create an all-devouring singularity before the game starts?

But doesn't the truthfulness of both of these explain the situation? Most are winless (never won) and undefeated (never lost), because most have never played in a national championship?

(Note that my previous post does not advocate for a personal position, but rather identifies we have to agree upon definitions, and then definitions point toward our answer.)

Laughing Laughing Laughing That answer is easy; anything divided by zero is undefined!

pilight, what I think linkster is actually pushing back on is that you brought up related but not directly relevant information (South Carolina is also undefeated in national championship games), indicating that you believe it's worthy to consider that information in the conversation, connoting that the accomplishments are the same or should be held in more similar regard (you did not mention the difference in sample sizes, for example, which is significant).

I also didn't mention who won more recently. None of it matters, it's just a fun fact.

Okay, you can be Newtonian or even Einsteinian, both classical physicists, but the universe is quantum mechanical (random). Thankfully, basketball is macro enough so that the quantum randomness is not apparent, and hence basketball looks classical.

But not always logical. UConn's best hope: 40 minutes of illogicHELL.

OMG-This studio crew is just horrendous. Like, all they did was talk about equality. Well, get some women to sit at that desk who know how to speak. Fargas is embarrassing.

LOL-and where is the UCONN bias? This has been the pre-coronation for South Carolina.

What's that annoying noise during the intros that sounds like an aerosol can?

Never mind. I just saw the smoke/steam.

If you can't decide which team to vote for, at least you can cheer for a win by 12 points.

Giving SC 4 or 5 shots each time down is probably a bad plan

ONO vs elite posts looks like this. We’ve got one rebounder, and the rest of the players on the floor are too finesse to rebound.
