The Minnesota Lynx announce they have signed guards Moriah Jefferson and Evina Westbrook.

Minnesota has also re-signed forward Nikolina Milic, center Hannah Sjerven and guard Yvonne Turner to hardship contracts.

Yes, sort of. You can go over the cap via hardships - several teams finished last season technically over the salary cap, for example - but the salary you pay them while on those hardships sticks on the cap when they're gone, affecting future moves. So, say Minnesota had almost had enough space for a regular main roster 12th player to start the season (they didn't, but go with me). At this point, after all the extra slivers of salary they've paid to all these hardship signings, they would now be significantly further away from adding that 12th player.

There is 0 inventive for Maya yo come back at this point. Unless she is MVP calibre right now, all she would do is tarnish her legacy. Why would a player who hasn't played competitively in YEARS, who is likely not in elite shape right now, jump onto a team that is borderline not going to make the playoffs?

She was contacted and responded that’s as much whisper information I can provide. If she came back how much a difference she could make idk but an out of shape maya is still better than 50% of the league imo. Playoffs may not be the goal but playing with Big Syl one last time could be an incentive fyi..whispers are whispers but nothing is for sure or even in the works from what I know. Now unless someone on here with connections to the LFO can correct me I’m just stating information relayed tbh. *cough cough*

Sure. "Legacy," right. Orrrr, Maya Moore has never in her career, at any level, played on a team that wasn't stacked. Even if she is in shape, her plus Gojira don't make the Lynx a contender, and she's not coming back to fight for the eighth seed.

There's a better chance that we'll get a pregnancy announcement than we will of a comeback.

This season feels more like flailing to put together a roster than any season since Reeves has been coach. I don't live in the Twin Cities anymore but this would be a tough season to have season tickets.
