Totally random observation: the Stanford dance team outfits include white gloves. The Tree does not appear to be wearing gloves.
Anyway, I'm kind of interested that UConn isn't trying to deny the long passes to Wiggins as theycome up the court.

Stanford has been very patient in their offense and have gotten some good looks.
36-30 Cardinal w/2:16 left in the half.

Halftime, 40-33 Stanford.
UConn has got to do better =/ They need to screen better.
Get Maya loose, pound the ball in to Tina, and Ketia just cannot foul. She's far too valuable to this team.

Not a knock on Kayla, but I can be that good if I'm that wide open all the damn time. UConn just isn't gaurding her.

Well, if you're UCONN, you can't really play any worse. Charde Houston has been the only Huskie to step up and everyone else has played sloppy and care-free.
Stanford's playing so well, though. Wiggins is hitting. Appel is making moves in the post. Ros and JJ have hit big shots. And of course Kayla Peterson has been everywhere. They really need to shut her down.
I still think it's good to see UCONN go in down at half. I think that could motivate them to play MUCH better.

You know... I'm surprised Van Chancellor has time to do these sorts of half time shows. I mean, it's cool to have him there but doesn't he need to like do something with his team? |

Think you're giving too little credit to the Stanford offense. They're running it through pretty well. UConn isn't. If they run their offense, I'm sure they'd get more good looks too from a variety of places instead of from way outside. |

Yeah! Biggest game of the season and you're commenting on what you're gonna do on national tv?

Those motivational tricks were pretty funny.
Well, I guess Van Chancellor is just more hands off. It's not like freaking out over the game two hours before the game is very helpful. Or like my teacher used to say as we crammed an hour before the test: "If you don't know it now, you won't know it for the test." |

I have to say neither team covered itself with glory the last 30 seconds of the half.
From here, the pace of the game seems to favor Stanford. I'm a little surprised. I'm also surprised at how well they've kept Moore out of the game. They've let her have touches, but maybe they're in spots where she's not comfortable. They've also used multiple defenders, including Wiggins and Appell.

The CT players need to smart up to Maya Moore. She's breaking down the defense and she'll get the ball to the open player.

Standford can take this game but only if they stop with trying those fancy passes and shooting with they have a lot more time on the clock. Keep doing what you did in the first half and UConn goes home!

55-46 Stanford led by Wiggins and some nice ball movement for Pederson. |

Wiggins has great footwork...she is always ready to shoot when the ball comes around to her.
Oh and you can see how bad she wants this by the look her in eyes.

Stanford isn't backing down. I thought Uconn great defense was supposed to shut the down.
