This is my team! If you would have drafted Martha Alwal and Chase Coley, it would have been nearly complete. Very Happy

Seriously that's a dangerous veteran team that has a lot of potential to make serious NCAA tourney noise....lot's of scoring there and Ali is a very very good rebounder...Tab I only didn't take for position reasons. so I took Didi (who does a TON) instead....this is a team to watch this season.

Thanks Cardinal for keeping us moving. It was still a marathon. Maybe we should split it into two parts next time. Or just draft thru 8 rounds then have everybody fill out their rosters with free agents. Just some thoughts.

And thanks to GEF for the great recap.

A reminder that Friday's lineup needs to be posted before your players start playing that day (and you can post as many days in advance as you like)

To make it easier on your stat taker, please post like this:

Fri Nov 14
C: B. Dolittle, Iowa
G: D. Martinez, Iona
G: M. Jefferson, UConn
G: B. Dietrick, Princeton
F: A. Porter, Stetson
F: T. Richardson-Smith, Seton Hall
U: K. Stokes, UConn
U: K. Clark, Drake
U: A. Gray, UNC

Remember that the C, G, F designations should correlate with how they are listed on their own websites. Please post full last names and colleges, at least for the first week or two until I get them all straightened out. If you only have 7 players actually playing on a day, please only list those seven. And remember that once posted you can make changes up to the start of action on D-day.

Hopefully Stephen will still join us. There are still lots of worthy untaken players - at least in my database.

Yay! Let the games begin.

Daisha Simmons also could be a very dangerous addition to this team. This is not the same Seton Hall teams of the past, simply because of the threats they have--now the trick is to figure out how to distribute it evenly.

Enter kadedrie Simmons who may score but shes a deadly distribution pg and a draft prospect there is a reason I took her in the 5th round...she is legit

Seton Hall has a pretty good preseason schedule. I assume they lose to W. Virginia in the second round of the WNIT but other than that they could win all their preseasons. I assumed Happy would take R-Smith so hadn't planned on taking her but she was #29 on my overall list so hard to not take when she was still there in the 13th round and I needed an F. I'm just hoping she's not too wild for us - we like our players to be a bit more boring in general so they don't hurt you while they help. Wink

Players I was surprised by how far they dropped: Theriot, Weise, and Cheyenne Parker.

And the ones I got that were surprising they were still around: Martinez, Gardner, and Cady.

I didn't do quite as well as Happy at diversifying out between conferences but still got a reasonable spread. So far haven't seen any date conflicts anyway. Working on my spreadsheets...

that's because you took Martinez (I had her 5th or 6th) which meant I took adams...so I took simmons for ATO, assists to go with her 16ppg...as shes more the all arounder and im trying to go more all arounder...and well you NEVER take 2 players from the same team IMHO...hell I only took handford cuz you brought it up Wink

But yeah #tabsgotsass

I did consider Cheyenne Parker, but she didn't play in the Preseason Exhibition.

So, y'know, what are you going to do?

yeah, hard to know how she will do with a new team in a new league. But at #13, it's kind of a crap shoot anyway.

Yeah, I kinda look at her history and that new coach talked about team really need rebounding so wasn't much of reach you take flyers on hopeful upside in end...

I thought I'd be able get back Alleyne and Gardner but folks were up on them this time... Crying or Very sad

For newbies or those who have forgotten: This is a good example for how to use the IR. Once she has missed that first game, tbinta can put her on the IR and pick up a replacement. Once Parker is back, tbinta can then waive the replacement (or anyone else on her team) and activate Parker again.

We did decide to go with ten players, including 3 U's so you could play her if you want to...

yay! welcome back. Glad you're ok, I was starting to worry about you. Several of these are players on my list of possibles. I was wondering if anyone would take Govan, Jones is a real player, and Nunn was really good year before last, but last year took a dive so I'll be curious to see if she regains her form. good luck.

I would consider FollowtheCardinalRule suggestion about coring one player, then letting new players pick a player when they sign up or agree to play. That way it would cut down the draft one round.

I wouldn't be opposed to doing a shorter draft and picking up the rest of the roster via free agency either, but with the time differences it may be a disadvantage for some people, like this draft finished around 11pm eastern time and some people left early or before the draft ended when they finished drafting.
