Well since Hones and Pederson are doing the same thing against Uconn that they did against Maryland, does that mean the Terps defense wasn't that bad? LOL

Stanford earned that one with great passing, there was nothing Uconn could do.

Wiggins hits! I smell victory for Stanford! Very Happy

Wrong, they left her wide open. That means someone didn't stay on their man.

Pederson is -ridiculous-. She's a post who can shoot the three and shoot it well. Plus, she can attack the rim and she can play well in the post.

And if they didn't double, Appel goes straight at the bucket for a layup and and 1, esp. since they're playing a small lineup.

I'd prefer a layup rather than a three.

Stanford has played a brilliant game. They stayed poised and have answered every UConn run. They look very strong. Great, great game by the Cardinal.

Moore has been playing her heart out. The kid has shown me something after having a less than stellar first half. Pederson has been impressive as well. I just love these young kids.

79-71 Stanford under a minute to go *sigh*

No, it means that UConn's defense was just as bad.

Those were the keys to the game. Of course, UConn putting up bricks helped a lot, too.

Congrats to Standford even though they screwed my bracket. Laughing
Anyway, they're a team on a mission, they believe they can win it all and I can see why. Even though Wiggins is the obvious star and leader, they have other players who can step up and take the pressure off of her. A really fun team to watch, I am pulling for them to go all the way.
Now on to Maya Moore. I already started my Tank 2010 campaign. What a special player, she showed today that she's got the drive to will her team back into the game, too bad the people around her don't know how to DEFER to the better option.
Now go LSU!

Well at least Keita and Charde helped out their WNBA Draft Stock tonight...

The one good thing I can think of after this loss is that Renee Montgomery is no longer our shooting guard. It just didn't work. Thankfully, we will have KG back or EDD starting at the 2 next season. Goodbye chucking Renee, hello passing Renee.

Congrats to Stanford. They had a great game plan and executed brilliantly against an outstanding defense. They kept their poise at big moments and passed very well when Geno decided to go small and press.

Wiggins was money in crunch time (she was only 4-13 shooting at one point) and Pedersen was great again.

Once again, I called this one very wrong (shocking, I know).

Tennessee-LSU will probably be the exact opposite of this game in terms of offensive execution. LSU likes to win games in the 50s and 60s (not a lot unlike Rutgers, except the Scarlet Knights don't have a certain 6'6" center) and isn't going to wow anyone with its offensive brilliance. Tennessee has the talent and skill to play in the 70s and 80s but can also play the lower scoring game too.

Wow!

Great great by Wiggins and Moore! Moore is so good, she should be the favorite for POY next season...

Stanford proving they should have been a #1 seed Razz

I said earlier that if UConn didn't bring it's A game, that Stanford would no doubt win. Well, UConn didn't bring anywhere near it's A game. UConn's post were non-existent, and the guards were probably worse. Just not a good game by the Huskies. Couple that with Stanford playing patient, controlled, smart basketball and you have them advancing to play for a National Championship. They were the better team tonight and got the job done.

Congrats to Stanford! Go on and win the damn thing on Tuesday.

Also, I forgot to say congrats to Stanford... I hope they win it all. Wiggy deserves it, and I think JJ Hones is a cutie.

Hoping for a Stanford/LSU final!

I just realized I've never seen UConn lose a FF game (in person, that is) before.

What a great job by Stanford. Wiggins seemed like she had a dozen rebounds to go with her 25 points, but Stanford played a smart, aggressive game all the way through.

(The first chorus of Rocky Top just started.)

I wonder if Geno isn't going to regret not trying the press earlier. It certainly gave them trouble, but it was too late.

Props to Lorin Dixon tonight as well. She played calm and poised... She will be useful next season to come in and take over the point when Renee starts her chucking ways.
