Gamecocks lost it at the free throw line. Damn, oh well it'll be nice to see UConn crush the Irish!

I guess the plan for the final play was for Mitchell to dribble out the clock.

I think that Dawn told her she should keep the ball. It was stupid to not have an alternate play set up because it was the obvious play. I think teams depend way too much on the superstar down the stretch.

Loyd just said it. They knew exactly what SCar was running. Muffet totally outcoaches Staley.

What an exiting poorly played basketball game.Missed free throws by usc and missed layups and turnovers by ND.Loyd nearly choked this game away.

Wow indeed. Cable's only basket of the game is the winner.

Did I miss something or did neither team take a 3 in the 2nd half? I'm pretty confident neither team made one.

Cable accidently in the right place at the right time. Notre Dame got lucky.

As well as giving the ball to Mitchell for the last play. ND knew SC would do just that and they were all over her. I was hoping that SC would have given the ball to someone else because ND would have left someone open while they were all over Mitchell. Plus Mitchell dribbled to long. Coats was open under the basket and asking for the ball but Mitchell didn't give it to her.

I am so disappointed because I really wanted SC to win and they would have if they had made their free throws!

SC 7-16 FTs.

Ball game, in simple terms.

Zero FT made by the SC starters! Only four made 3 pointers too--by both teams.

From my seat I couldn't see exactly where she was. (And, of course, she missed.)

No seniors on ND right? At least in the starting lineup? If so it showed. Loyd's decision-making down the stretch left something to be desired, but it's a good learning experience for pressure situations.

I think her senior year will really help her polish her game. She has lots of things you can't teach in terms of handle, seeing the floor and the obvious athleticism. But she needs more strength and her game needs more polish. But in 15 months she should be pro-ready. I'm not sure if I think she is going to be a franchise WNBA player or a very good one. But there's plenty of time for her to improve on what is already a significant amount of ability. Plus that speed that we rarely get to see in a college game will be a huge asset in the pro game. She's very fast.

According to the play-by-play, South Carolina was 0/6 from three in the second half and Notre Dame was 1/2 (make by Mabrey with 14:58 remaining).

Pretty sure FT's weren't the only stat in the game.

SC had 16 offensive rebounds to ND's 10. ND deserved to lose.

Thanks. I'm on my mobile here, which leaves something to be desired in the stats department, and they have no shooting stats in the arena.
