UConn plays uptempo with many possessions. They are aggressive on blocks and steals. So their low foul counts to me is very questionable given their style of play. It just doesn't add up.

Actually UConn is ranked about 150th in possessions/game.

Apparently she was supposed to be first team all-american.

I've watched Uconn for close to 15 years now. I've seen their best teams, and I've seen their beatable teams.

This Uconn team is very beatable. I really don't get why other teams can't even compete.

That's skewed because most of their games are blowouts where they can jut milk clock when the game is out of hand. Do you watch the matchups where UConn plays someone good? They are an uptempo team.

And anyways since it was a Wisconsin comparison what is Wisconsin ranked in possessions per game? You can't get as many steals and blocks as UConn gets and be that low in fouls. The teams that don't foul by nature are less aggressive teams.

Geno's Suggested Changes:
1) 9 ft Rim
2) Widen the Lane
3) Larger Basketball
4) 4 Ten Minute Quarters

You can when your coach uses his mandatory in-game interview to whine and bitch about an obvious foul call. Pass up no opportunity to intimidate the officials.

The 9 ft rim would put us at a significant disadvantage in international play, since the Olympics and World Championships and every other country in the world uses a 10 ft rim.

Nearly 25 yrs for me.

I would call this team beatable, not very beatable. The 2005 team was very beatable.

If this team had the D UConn has been known for, they'd be unbeatable. As it is, they can out-score anyone because they have 5 legit scorers/3-pt shooters on the court for most of the 40 mins.

We changed to the smaller ball because that's what FIBA uses.

On ESPN they always make it sound like all the coaches in the country (besides Geno) are dolts. They can't teach their players to play defense without fouling, can't teach them to pass without turning it over.

Unfortunately, the other teams has had their best years when UConn had their best years.. This season's NCAA reminds me of this season's NBA. Even though the GS Warriors are #1, they're beatable, but none of the other teams are very good and so they can't take advantage. Idea

So is it worth me tuning in to watch the championship game, or is it likely to be like this one was?

You're expecting Turner to get an ACL injury and miss the game?

I probably won't be able to resist anyway. I have a light week.

Fingers crossed for an actual contest.

I'd guess it's a combination of reasons, one of which is that they don't tire. Players that tire start using their hands instead of their feet to play defense.

Then of course there are all those condos in South Beach that they make available to the refs all year. Wink

Morgan Tuck is interesting. She's not necessarily quick nor athletic yet she finds different ways to score.

She's quick but not fast, has excellent post moves and can finish around the rim. She has a quick brain. Also, she's beginning to shoot the 3 decently.
