having the ball in Lewis' hands as the clock expires has never been a good thing for UConn.

What the heck was that with over two seconds left? No shot? |
They put the ball in the hands of their best senior guard...

Great game!! Congrats to Stanford, they have some seniors who should be given a closer look come draft time.

Really, what a fun game.
And ESPN must have been thrilled to have it not just go to OT but to be close all the way to the end.

maybe UConn was looking past Stanford? Thinking all opponents would be like UC Davis? I don't know the answer. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they don't lose another game all year.

incredibly, uconn has made no improvement in this kind of game situation since it choked those 3 games vs ND a couple of years ago.
No UConn team w/ Lewis on it has won a game by less than 10.

Must be a huge confidence boost for this Stanford group, without Chiney and especially after the 61-35 romp at Maples when most of these players were freshman/sophomores.
Well deserved.

Kaleena really channeled Ann Strother on that last posession... good grief.

LOL that is the truth. Didn't Geno say she was going to have to make some big shots to be considered an all time great after she clanked that game winner vs. ND in Storrs 2 years ago? Does not look that will ever be happening...

Great offensive game plan by Tara and execution by her team. UConn's offense and defense both looked befuddled.
I voted for Stanford.
Chong showed signs of the aggressive driving and arc bombing skills that characterized her in high school.

So who's #1 now, South Carolina?

UConn is still #1 to me -- they barely lost to a team that should be ranked Top 5 on the road. South Carolina barely beat USC at home, so they haven't impressed yet. Maybe Notre Dame will be #1 next week's poll, who knows.

It depends what happens this week. SCar plays Clemson and SDSU. Notre Dame plays Mich St, Chatanooga and Holy Cross.
SCar will probably move up to 1, but they're only 23 points apart in the AP poll. If ND were to win impressively over MSU, between the two of them they'd have the only win over a ranked team and could conceivably jump to 1, I suppose, but likely not.
I'm curious where UConn and Stanford end up. I expect Stanford will jump aTm but not Tenn, ND or S.Car. Will UConn be behind Stanford? Will UConn be 3, 4, 5 or 6?

Poll logic says South Carolina, but I won't be surprised if some voters decide it has to be Notre Dame.
UConn should not be #1 in the next poll. A loss this early in the season, to whoever, needs to drop the Huskies out of that slot.
