Looks like Indiana is SERIOUSLY considering taking Tan White with the #2 pick...gives them more offense in the backcourt (and still no point gurad).
What does this mean? If Currie comes out, she could go #1. This means the Mercury could have the option of choosing McCarville or Sandora at #3. And if this happens, SASS or Houston would get the other.
Also...Houston is looking at Sancho Lyttle.

Ha!! It pays off to be up @ 12:41 a.m.
While I like McCarville, I would really like to see Sandora on the Mercury. She can rebound, post up, block shots, and shoot the three. Add that in with Kamila and the Big Three...and . The Merc would have depth as well with Belinda, Kristen, Jae, Tamara, Plenette, Gwen, Kayte, etc.

Unless Indiana thinks great things about Ebony Hoffman, the Tan White selection may just give the team the second scorer it desperately needs. But Nat Williams is on the downside of her career, and Catchings cannot do it all again.

The once constant in the W is that the Fever will do something goofy on draft day. I'll believe something normal from them when I see it.

Drafting Catchings was the most sensible thing they've done.

Even that was something of a risk. Some players don't come back from ACL tears.

Where do you put the Tan White issue, Pilight? Normal or not?

It's pretty strange. Why would they take White over Wecker?

Can't answer that...I would take Wecker over White. White has athleticism, but Wecker has just about everything else.

They probably think they can turn Tan into a point guard. |

In keeping with the "goofy" theme here, I'll predict Trudi fools us all and takes Wecker with the No. 1. |

If Currie leaves early, Trudi will not take Wecker.

If Currie leaves early, she's an easy #1 IMHO. |

Cam, I've been assuming Currie will stay, like Cappie and Augustus have stated...do you think Currie is more likely to "come out" than they are? |

After watching Currie play yesterday, I am more on the side of thinking she might well come out this year, compared to the others.

The difference between Currie and the others is Currie is graduating this year and has been a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll. She was with the team during the year she sat out with an injury, even traveling with them (while Cappie and Polkie sat out as partial qualifiers). Unlike Augustus, Currie doesn't have to challenge the WNBA rule, since she finished four years (similar to Deanna Nolan and Tonya Washington).
