Based on the little I've seen, Monroe looks really raw, but someone'll take her, probably in the mid-to-lower first round (again like Black and Pringle). Can't teach 6-5 and mobile. Where she goes from there'll depend on hard work and luck to catch on with the right team.

Anybody, what are Monroes' prospects for the WNBA? She's long, with some upside (just like Black, as bballfan said), but whenever I see her, she displays practically no post game. Personally, to me it looks like someone will give her a chance, but she'll have a really tough time hanging with WNBA bigs and likely won't stick. |
Hey now! I don't think Chante Black has any upside at all. I do agree with pilight that Monroe is a more talented player than the other two players I listed, but none of those three can/could compare to players at their position nationally.

If Monroe had gone to UConn and Charles to Florida State, they'd be regarded oppositely. Players don't improve much in Tallahassee. |
It's the system. Semrau really didn't start recruiting tall players until Duke and UNC (and Maryland) picked up their recruiting. She has some big girls now, but she hasn't changed the system (which is supposed to be run with guards/wings). |
Which is why Bravard is out of place at FSU in real games--and which is why Clayton led the Seminoles in rebounding and had several double-digit scoring games once she moved into the starting spot at the "4" the last half of the season.

Wow, only a 40 point win to go to the Final Four. 40 points.
Seriously.
Just give UConn the real trophy, yank a 4th team and let the other four play for a runnerup trophy. I don't care who UConn plays for their next two games, it ain't gonna be close.

Is this performance better than the 02 regional final against ODU? |
ODU outscored UConn in the second half in 2002, the only half the Hussies lost all season. The first half, however, was about as good as a team can play.

They were great in that half, but I was more impressed with their demolition of Tenn in the final four, the game in which Summitt went to the Uconn locker room afterwards and told them how great they were.
