Three weeks ago, you were ready to crucify Brittney Griner. Now, with Tennessee out of the tourney, you're kissing her ass. Does she deserve it? Hell yes!!!!!!! But y'all are a bunch of shameless friggin' groupies and you know it. Some of us have been riding the Griner Train since the beginning, so stop trying to act brand new.

She punched somebody in the face. An NBA player does that and receives the same media treatment, plus a longer suspension.

She's playing now, no need to dwell on the punch, and they have praised her outstanding play.

Just because the Griner train is filling up doesn't mean somebody is taking your seat. Chill.

I have no problem with anything ESPN does to get sports lovers interested in women's basketball. On First Take, all the male expert commentators were saying they were excited to watch the Baylor/UConn matchup (if it happened, and it is).

This year Ive been watching on 360.
WHY?

I don't have to hear Trey Wingo's stupid puns. K-Law picking teams that she's not the alma mater of (she's still paying for the Stanford pick in 08' Laughing ) or Carolyn Peck..... or Carolyn Peck!

while watching the game, at some point it dawned on me that i hadn't heard anything about 'the punch'; and then at halftime they did the piece with her where she mentioned it. but at least it wasn't being mentioned by the announcers, unless i've just gotten used to blocking out most of their yammering. Wink

whine whine whine whine....

they're in the entertainment business -- and it IS a business. They'll hype whatever they think will get people's attention. And thank goodness for THAT since wbball fans are few, far between and kinda cheap. Smile

'cause if they WEREN'T cheap (as in buying tickets, willing to pay for media coverage, etc) there would be more diversity and more quality in the coverage.

As it 'tis, we're stuck with what we got (which ain't horrible) and it gives us the right to whine.
