No question that Nebraska is coming back to the pack next year after losing Griffin and 5 other seniors. But will they ever be able to get back to this point? Or will they return into obscurity?

Definitely return to obscurity, look at Louisville.

Stupid prediction. Do not count out Jeff Walz or his program.

Nebraska 2009-10 = Duke 2006-07

Yup lose in conference tourney semis and in Sweet 16 to the 4 seed

Bad comparison. Nebraska had never reached the Sweet 16 before. Yes, it's very disappointing to lose this soon, but it was still a historic season, way above expectations.

The 2006-07 Duke team was coming off choking away the national championship game. It was expected to get back there and win. The program also had a history of NCAA tourney disappointments (see Minnesota in 2004 and Tennessee in 2003 after entering the Final Four at 35-1).

VERY different level of expectations and very different perspective.

The better comparison for this Nebraska team was the Jameer Nelson-led St. Joseph's men's team that came out of nowhere in 2004, went undefeated in the regular season, lost in its first conference tournament game and lost in the Elite 8 on a three-pointer with 5 seconds left.

good analysis as always. i would sign off on this, njjosh.

No it's not. It doesn't matter what the history of the team/program is, or what the expectations were preseason. Nebraska was undefeated in the regular season. They're "supposed" to win out the Big 12 tournament, and to at least make the Final Four.

bballfan is right. This team choked just like the Duke team did (although, not as bad... sorry, Lindsey).

Nebraska was way overrated and hyped. They were a 3 seed and only the 4th best team in Big 12. Antonelli should have seen this, she was a dozens of Big 12 games. She overhyped them just like she did Texas.

In this case, the Won/Loss record was a false indicator.

B12 teams always get overseeded. That's why the B12 is at the bottom of BeK's Conference Results vs Seeding list every year.
