since the ASG came up in another thread, i thought i'd start a topic.
who all is planning to go? should we try to stay at the same hotel? how available are the tickets for this thing? i'm going to try to get some press tix as a backup, but i'm willing to try ticket agencies if it means getting in the door.

I think DTS said the Ramada right near the reservation is the spot. I should be able to attend. I haven't given much thought to tix yet...

LOL!
My travels are changing!
I just cancelled my account with L.A. (Gad that felt good!) I cancelled PHX about a month ago. (I still haven't gotten my deposit back) I need to get my deposit back from Sac.
Now I have a season ticket for Indy, Deposit w/ Chicago and I'm thinking about a six-game package w/ Detroit. Depending on how well I do finding work in Indy, I'll see about getting to DC at least once.
Oh, and lady Vols games will be a six hour drive from my new apt. (same as PHX is now) Whoo Hooo!

I would love to go to the ASG but who know when (or if) there'll be tix available. What day of the week is the ASG anyway?? I don't think I'll be needing a hotel but who knows?? it might be fun!

the hotel rooms were disappearing the last time we discussed this here - mohegan sun sewn up by the league, and then some places down the road by a few miles. so the best plan may be to lock up a room and worry about the tix later. i snatched a room at the end of the year and when a bud tried to make reservations right behind me, everything was gone. i'm guessing they'll ramp up the events around the game because of the isolation/captivity, and because we have a new commish who'll decree that it be done (we hope). for me, the activities were always more fun than the actual game. there's no way i'm schlepping up there every day from new york. i also suspect we'll see more than the usual number of players hanging out at this particular asg. not that i'm a stalker . . . but wouldn't it be fun to watch yo & company playing the slots?
can't we claim of the sun's 29 restaurants for a big board confab?

The Ramada is definitely my recommendation.
It is not too bad a hotel, and with AAA was only about $70-$80 per night. It's up 395 about 5 miles from the reservation.
