When it comes to calling WCBB games, Doris Burke is not popular with some Tennessee Lady Vols fans for a variety of reasons. They obsess over the fact that she played for UConn,

I'm a contributor of several women's b-ball articles at Wikipedia, but I have nothing to do with Doris Burke's bio!

That said, whoever wrote the above bit about Doris is nuts over the Lady Vols! Shocked

That quote was taken out. It also isn't accurate...she went to Providence.

Okay, now it says:

Quote:
As part of her ESPN2 coverage for the 2008 LSU/Tennessee NCAA Semi-Final Game, with 17:31 left in the game, Doris Burke and Mike Patrick had the following exchange:

Doris: "Basketball is a contact game and I am not saying to go out of your way to hit Candace Parker's left shoulder" Mike: "ha-ha" Doris: "but I would put her in a pick and roll until I made some tears come to her eyes." Mike: "Yep" Doris: "I would say that is part of the game"

Okay, this is sadly funny to me. I must not have anything else to do.

It's the opposite. Someone who says Vol fans "obsess" over the fact that she was afiliated with UConn obviously doesn't like Vol fans.

actually, on another board an "Vol fan" admits (gleefully) to adjusting the entry... go figure.
