I really hope she gets this job just so I don't have to hear her talk about herself on ESPN anymore.

She's like a walking encyclopedia of mis-information, yet she believes she's our very own private Discovery channel of basketball lore. Yikes to North Texas--I hope they like history.

I hope she gets it. That means she won't be on air anymore.

They're not identical situations, but Lieberman is also thought to have had relationships with her players, like Chatman. Wouldn't that be a red flag to any school?

Well... don't you get a fresh start in a new job?

Anyway I'm one of the few who like listening to Nancy at games. It cures the boredom, listening for her to put her foot in her mouth. Laughing

Whatever it takes to get her off the announcer's chair and talking all her BS into my ear is fine with me.

Even if we assume it's true, I don't think a first offense should draw a life sentence.

If she gets the job, will the players have to say "Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman" whenever the speak to her? Smile

I'm not doubting this is true but what team was Nancy suppose to have had a relationship with her players?

I do remember she married her teammate from the Washington Generals. Tom or Tim Cline. But that's different

I'm more concerned if the players have to hear Nancy yakking about Anna DeForge instead! Poor kids! Razz

But seriously...I really hope Nancy does get the job. And no, I don't have any ulterior or sarcastic reasons for that!

The article didn't say yet if Nancy has an interview lined for the coaching position.

However, the following weblinked article reported that Donna Capps (former coach at Univ. of Texas-Arlington) has an interview scheduled for next week.

[Bumping this thread to update]

Nancy has withdrawn her name from consideration of the North Texas coaching job.

I never thought she'd take the job. Why take the job at what is essentially a minor league type school when she can stay on as an analyst and cover all of the WNBA and college game?

And probably make more money doing it.

Nancy didn't say it, but I'm guessing that for her to take a college coaching job, would hinder her income from her announcing jobs at ESPN, as well as her other sources of income, such as her basketball camps, and other endorsements.

Nancy lives in the Dallas area, and to my knowledge, the only Division I school there is Southern Methodist University. Their coach is Rhonda Rompola, Nancy's former teammate during the Dallas Diamonds (of the WBL in the early 80's).
