Hopefully increased viewership of players like Parker and Fowles leads to an increase in the WNBA TV audience as well.

Aw, that makes my heart fuzzy and warm. Very Happy

And it's great to know that it's other age groups besides teens - many of whom were able to talk with me yesterday about Parker's heroics the night before.

Awesome news! I know I've heard a lot of people say they're going to watch the WNBA now just for Parker. Very Happy

I've heard the same, mostly from men.

Impressive. Hope they support the WNBA longterm. Smile

I hate to be a doubter, but there's not enough data here to indicate a trend. Ratings are up from last year, but how does it compare to the all time high?

Candace getting a few new guys to tune in to a WNBA game or two is great, but will they stick around? I guess the best sign is I've been seeing more positive press from male sportswriters lately, but even that is often an attack on the NBA masquerading as praise of the WNBA.

I found this article from 1999, ratings were slightly higher back then:

Ain't the internet great? Nothing ever goes away.

doubt we'll keep those fans after seeing Stanford's jv game on Tues. The LSU/TN game wasn't much better.

A lot of people said something similar after last year's FF, which featured three games that were less than artistic successes.

I think the more significant question is whether the increase was because of Parker or something else.
