It's called "marketing" and Nike does it very very well.

But to what end? It's not like we can run out to Sports Authority or even the Nike store and buy a pair. I need a new pair of shoes -- preferably before my local league game Wednesday night -- but 3 stores in D.C. later, no shoes. I can order Nike shoes on-line from East Bay, I guess.

Ah...but did you go to the store looking for those shoes with Nike in the forefront of your brain? Maybe you don't end up with those particular shoes, but you'll likely be sporting a swoosh when it's all over.

Find a Steve & Barry's and go get those Starburys! They're the deal of a lifetime of sneaker shopping.

AF1's are the only Nike's I mess with. The rest of them are just really high priced skippy keds with no cushioning and no "air". Laughing

Nike Shox are well worth the price, IMO. If you can find some on clearance, snatch them up before it is too late.
