Doctors were able to remove the ball and the player is expected to make a full recovery.

Much to her teammates' consternation, Cheryl Ford has taken the concept of 'living and breathing basketball' to its natural next step.

"It's unnatural," former Louisiana Tech teammate Ayana Walker said. "I don't know if she's looking at me when I talk to her. And when she talks you can't see her lips move."

"She needs to get her head straight, or else someone's gonna end up trying to dribble her down the court at the end of practice," guard Deanna Nolan stated.

Shock coach Bill Laimbeer applauded Ford's dedication but had no comment as to the practicality of her transformation.

After scoring no points in the game due to lack of sight, Ford's teammates were able to convince her to give up her "Jack" from Jack in the Box protest.
