SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 3, 2005 – The Sacramento Monarchs announced today that Opening Day on Saturday, June 4, 2005, versus the Los Angeles Sparks, is sold out for the fourth consecutive season. The Monarchs begin the season with a 3-1 start and will tip off against the Sparks at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

“Once again, this is an extremely exciting event for both the Monarchs organization and the City of Sacramento,” said Danette Leighton, senior director of marketing and Monarchs business operations for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. “This is a huge statement for Sacramento and women’s sports. We are incredibly thankful to our fans and the support of the community.”
