Crafty, tough, defensive minded- Temple is all of that and more. To be honest I expected Temple to play the Terps just like they did... punch, counter-punch, and punch again. It wasn't a pretty game by any stretch, but they have to be able to gut out the ugly ones and get a win - that's what champions do.
Go Terps!

How many first-place votes do you expect Maryland to lose in this week's AP poll (it collected 46 of 50 last week)? I'll say two or three, as word gets around over how close this game was (despite the 11-point margin at the end). I would not be surprised to see Duke get a few first-place votes after relatively easy home wins over Vanderbilt and Texas. |
Actually, the Terps didn't lose any 1st place votes on the AP Poll. They are still holding at 46. OK lost ( from 3-2) 1 vote to Duke. UNC stands pat with 1 vote.
I'm not going to use the officiating as an excuse but, I thought it was a little one-sided towards Temple at times during Temple's key runs. Some of those charging calls against the Terps were very questionable. IMHO. But, the Refs did get their whistles squared away in the last few minutes of the game. Temple's guards were harrasing KT to no end, all over the court, while in their full court pressure defense. I think she kept her composure fairly well, considering.
