Lauren Neaves was MVP of the Gene Hackerman Invitational at Rice this weekend, while teammate Kadie Riverin also made the All Tournament Team scoring well both games. Samantha Stovall had an outstanding all around tournament as well for Rice. Val Berezhynska keeps impressing and will be the star once Neaves has graduated. Fulton and Watts are young players that were noticeable in the championship game.
Rice defeated Alcorn State on Friday night handily and had a little more competition in defeating Idaho State in the championship game. Kent State defeated Alcorn State in the consolation game.
A WNBA scout, Bridgette Gordon, was at the invitational checking out the talent. Thanks for telling us, Kris!

Idaho State was a sharpshooting team. I loved their pregame warm ups. They upset Kent State on Friday night by hitting lots of 3 pointers.
Alcorn State was feisty though overmatched by both opponents. I didn't get to see much of Kent State.
