Marquette coach Terri Mitchell picked up her 200th career victory with Marquete's 64-51 win at Oakland today. It was Marquette's 8th straight victory on the season and they move to 9-1. It was a homecoming game for three MU players from Michigan - sr Danielle Kamm from Saginaw and so Marissa Thrower and fr Janelle Harris who attended the same Detroit high school. I expect Marquette will remain in the AP top 25 come Monday and will have a good chance of breaking into the top 25 in the coaches' poll. They're off for a week for Finals - they host Gonzaga next Sunday in their next contest in the first of four straight home games.

Here's the AP recap from today:

Congrats to Terri and Marquette! Assuming the Big East plays out like the nonconference schedule so far, Marquette just might be a Top 2 or 3 Big East team. They've certainly done more than Pitt, Louisville, South Florida, Rutgers, and DePaul thus far.
