I'm gonna go with Oklahoma......I think they have the least challenges in conference. Once conference play starts teams pick it up and teams that should be outmatched on paper can upset others. I think the SEC, ACC, and Big East are stronger at the top.

Look at their schedule. I didn't vote for them, but it doesn't look at all impossible. Win at IU and beat Bowling Green, and they could do it.

..but if one can this year, Maryland would have a good chance, specifically because of the way the ACC schedule is set up. The Terrapins only face North Carolina once, and the game is at Comcast. Their toughest road game is at Duke, part of a home-and-home, and their toughest remaining nonconference game is at home against Michigan State. (This is not to say another team couldn't upset the Terps on the right night -- games at Virginia and Florida State could be potential landmines.)

I don't think Duke will finish the season undefeated, but I think the Blue Devils will be the last team to join the ranks of the once-beaten, so I voted for them. My heart is with the Bobcats of Ohio, though. Sylvia Crawley is off to a 5-0 start in her first season at the helm in Athens, but the competition level for OU ramps up for the next three games. After visiting Missouri tomorrow, the 'Cats host Pitt Saturday, then visit Auburn next Wednesday. |

Duke, North Carolina, and MD won't. They all will beat up on each other. IMO, UNC and MD are better than Duke, but I don't know if either one of them are significantly better than the other.

I don't think anybody goes unbeaten, but I see Maryland having the best chance because they have the mental makeup when the game is tight or when it goes into OT to find another gear.
I'd like to ask LdyVols to explain the opinion that Oklahoma has "few challenges" in conference play.

I picked Oklahoma. Although the Big 12 South teams have played well so far, I don't think any of them will be prepared to take on the Sooners this season (I don't see the Big 12 North teams as a threat to OU). I originally thought aTm and Texas might give them a scare, but then reality set in (aTm has no inside presence whatsoever and have an injured superstar; Texas is well..Texas).
I think the last ACC unbeaten will be Duke. I see us beating Maryland in Cameron Indoor in January, and I see Maryland defeating UNC in ComCast in late January. I do, however, see Duke losing at least once in February. Those February road games are ridiculous.

Any of UNC, Oklahoma and Maryland could conceivably enter the NCAAs unbeaten. I wouldn't be surprised to see two of those three-- barring big injuries-- do it.
A&M's injured superstar will be back in the lineup by the time A&M play OU. (OU will probably win anyway, but it could get interesting.)

Take Ball State off the undefeated list, they lost to Illinois State last night.

IMO, no one will escape a major conference under normal circumstances undefeated. Too many difficult in conf games, never mind the out of conference.

Vandy and Georgia out.
Looks like Middle Tennessee State has established themselves as a program to be feared.
